The AGM of Lickey WI was held on October 1 at the parish hall and WI advisor Janice Jones was present to officiate. The institute currently serves 63 members.
Following acceptance of the treasurer's report, secretary Janet Coe gave the annual report, detailing the many activities of the institute in the preceding 12 months. President Sue Taylor gave her report, and thanked the committee for their support. Netta Appleton, who was retiring from the committee, was thanked for her extensive service in various roles including those of secretary and president. Twelve committee members were re-elected with Sue Taylor being returned as president for a second term. Following the official business, Janice Jones gave an account of her role as a WI advisor. Janice reported on activities organised by the Worcestershire Federation and urged members to support An Evening with Jennie Bond on Friday, November 29. The competition for a girl's best friend was won by Irene Scott, who was also a winner of the raffle, along with Gwen West. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 5, when Bernadette Munnelly will demonstrate gift wrapping with a difference. Members are invited to bring a gift-wrapped matchbox for the competition table.
