I NOTE (Evening News, October 9) that the park-and-ride scheme in Worcester is to be extended.
I believe this is a good idea but not to the detriment of our local buses. Last week, we heard about the cancellation of some buses and the re-routing of others.
We are now approaching dark, winter mornings and nights which deters many of our elderly folk from going out in the evenings. They will also find it difficult to get out during the day.
And how are we expected to get to work in safety? In Droitwich Spa where I live, the 20 bus route will be re-routed to bypass two vital estates. Many who live there do not have any other form of transport.
We have a brand new hospital in Worcester. Many residents will have to resort to other ways to get there.
How stupid to place this facility out-of-town. I say yes to park-and-ride, but what about the ones who do not have a car or other transport?
A ISAACS, Droitwich.
