RUBERY Library was packed with proud parents who turned out to see their tots collect awards for completing a summer reading scheme.
Village beat-bobbies PC Tony Platt and Sergeant Kevin Lynott were on hand to present medals and certificates to more than 30 children who had completed the Planet Reading initiative.
Youngsters had to read six or more books during the summer holidays, with scores of children taking part in the scheme.
Senior library assistant Sally Albutt said: "The scheme was set up to encourage children to become interested in books and it has been very successful.
"We had a good turn out on the day even though some of the prize winners could not make it."
