TOWNSFOLK are being invited to a fun day which is being held to highlight the work of a new community centre.
The event, at Westlands First School, tomorrow ( Thursday), will focus on the WANDS centre, which is set to be built on the Farmers Way site next year.
There will be a bouncy castle, a free barbecue and face painting at tomorrow's fun day, which runs from 3.30-5.30pm. But the message behind the event will be about the community looking towards the future.
The Advertiser revealed earlier this year that plans were in hand to build a new centre beside the school which would be known as WANDS (Westlands and Neighbourhood Nursery Development with Sure Start).
Around £850,000 has now been secured over three years and building work will begin early in the New Year.
The new building will host many activities and tomorrow local people will be given the chance to find out about future plans.
Cath Ellicott, Worcestershire County Council's early years partnership business and finance officer, said: "This is a real opportunity for local people to come along and have their say about what will happen when the building opens next year.
"There will be a chart for people to tell us what they want to see going on by putting their stars next to the activity they most want, it could be IT courses or learning how to eat healthily," she added.
