A MEETING has taken place to discuss 'ways and means of improving' Alcester's car parking situation.
Mayor Ron Leek suggested possible sites in the town which could be made available for long-stay parking at the meeting with Stratford Council and Somerfield at Globe House on October 2.
The move comes after the Alcester Chronicle reported exploratory talks were under way over the problem of Somerfield's car park being used by non-shoppers.
Somerfield approached the district council to look at the possibility of introducing charges at the Bulls Head Yard and adjoining Somerfield car parks to deter all-day parking because this took up spaces needed by short-stay customers.
