CHAIRWOMAN Jenny Johnson welcomed members to the first meeting of the autumn programme.
It was unfortunate that the planned speaker was unable to attend.
However, member Angela Stearn came to the rescue with a most interesting and fascinating talk with slides of the holiday she and her husband enjoyed in China.
They used various modes of transport, including planes, trains, boats and rickshaws for the 21-day journey and a walk on the Great Wall of China was a great experience.
At the second meeting, Sid Canning, a keen and skilful photographer, took members on a journey through Hereford and Worcester and other towns and cities with the aid of slides.
Sid shared his vast knowledge of architectural curios which can be found in churches and other historical buildings.
Several social events have been planned for the winter, including a skittle evening and theatre visits.
