NO, EP Cooper, you do not stand alone in your anger over the "ad campaign" by a three-piece suite firm in Enfield (Letters, October 9).
For more than three years now, they must have been blatantly flouting the law:
The Town and Country Planning (Advertising) Regulations - enforceable by Redditch Council.
The Highways Acts - enforceable by West Mercia Police
Trading Standards legislation - enforceable by Worcestershire County Council.
Also, the people attaching the signs are trespassing on county council-owned land and street furniture.
Phone calls over the three years to these three public bodies have produced sympathy but no effective action.
I find it inconceivable that, providing there was a will to address the issue, these three authorities between them could not make use of the range of powers and sanctions available under the law - from prosecution to injunctions.
Their failure to take effective action means other businesses are suffering from unfair competition and the rest of us are suffering from persistent eye level litter.
What is going on?
