A THIEF was chased by a member of the public after he snatched an elderly woman's purse in a Worcester post office.
The robbery happened at 12.50pm yesterday, in the post office in Foregate Street.
Police said the woman's purse contained £88 in cash, her pension book and some Lottery tickets.
The thief was chased into Lowesmoor but got away, despite police thoroughly searching the area.
He was described as in his mid-20s, about 5ft 10ins and of medium build.
He was wearing a white baseball cap - which police say he may have discarded - a dark, hooded top and blue jeans.
