HISTORY came to life for children at one Worcestershire school with a visit to Worcester Cathedral.
Pupils from St Gabriel's with St Mary's C of E Primary School, Hanley Swan, went back in time to experience life as a mediaeval monk.
They also re-enacted the funeral of Prince Arthur, who was laid to rest in the city.
The dramatic reconstructions were a hit with pupils, according to Year 5 and 6 teacher Anita Wilkins.
"We started off by doing a tour dressed as monks to experience what life was like in the monastery," she said.
"The children loved all the drama of the tour and they even obeyed the vow of silence during the visit."
The youngsters are studying Tudor England and Worcester Cathedral in their history and religious classes.
