Badsey Ladies 4, Bournville II 1
BADSEY were denied an interval advantage only by some fine work from the visiting goalkeeper.
However, the hosts continued to take the game to their opponents and were rewarded when Karen Whelan finally got the better of Bournville's last line of defence.
The lead didn't last long as the Badsey defence was caught napping but the hosts soon regained the lead when Claire Jones netted after a goalmouth scramble.
A couple of further goals in a short space of time from Whelan and Lynn Townson completed a satisfying conclusion to a game sponsored by AMW Engineering Ltd in which Louise Stephenson was named player of the match.
There's a break from league action on Saturday when Badsey face Malvern at Redditch RUFC (10.30am).
Pershore 2,
Worcester Norton 0
UNBEATEN Pershore, only able to field a team of nine, maintained their fine start to the season.
Several short corners were gained as a result of a solid passing game that enabled Ceri Barber to break the stalemate.
The visitors had the better of the possession after the break but the defence and goalkeeper Lisa Hill were equal to everything thrown at them.
More slick passing in midfield again opened up the Norton defence for Sarah Nicholson to clinch the win with her fourth goal of the campaign.

East Glos II 0,
Blockley Ladies 2
SATURDAY'S Severn League second division match played in Cheltenham saw Blockley record a surprisingly comfortable win.
Sally Holmes gave them an early lead when she was found unmarked following a free-kick and a neat finish made it 1-0.
The home goalkeeper made several fine stops but couldn't prevent the Cotswolds side doubling their lead when Kerry Jackson forced the ball home following a goalmouth melee.
Ilmington 1,
Blockley Mixed 9
SUNDAY'S clash saw Blockley, playing a player short, carry on their outstanding form.
Following victory over Chipping Campden, the Sparmoor side was soon on top form and scored times without reply in the opening half.
Free flowing play after the break led by the outstanding Simon Newitt and Jim Bridger helped increase the final margin of victory despite conceding a consolation through a defensive error that cost new keeper Jason Hardwick a clean sheet.
The Blockley goals came from Dan Knight (3), Dave Potter (2), Newitt (2), Bridger and Pete Dyer.
