A £100,000 refurbishment programme has begun for a Worcester school, with a major revamp of its buildings.
Three classrooms and the reception area have already been upgraded at Dines Green Primary School, thanks to hard work from headteacher Steve Gough during the summer holidays.
Mr Gough, with the help of caretaker Les Munn and painters, totally gutted the rooms to begin the refurbishment.
With help from a £12,000 grant from the LEA, new storage facilities, a whole new reading area, carpets and modern tables and chairs are now in place in an attempt to improve the general environment of the school.
"The school was put on special measures and we are all determined to turn this situation around," said Mr Gough.
"These new facilities are just part of the first phase of change.
"The next stage is to improve the reception and Year 1 buildings, which will cost around £100,000 and will integrate and improve the flow between them."
