THE nephew of a former Worcestershire cricketer has been named as one of the victims of the Bali bombing atrocity.
New Zealander Mark Parker, nephew of John Parker, was thought to be holidaying on the island after a summer playing cricket.
The former Otago batsman was named as New Zealand's first confirmed victim of Saturday night's bombing.
He had been playing for St Cross Symondians in the Southern Electric Premier Cricket League, and was in the Kuta district of Bali when the bomb exploded.
The 27-year-old was the son of New Zealand test player Murray Parker. His uncle, who was also a New Zealand international, played for Worcestershire in the mid-Seventies.
Mark was a member of Onslow Cricket Club, in Hampshire, a club he led to promotion from the SPCL Division Three last season with 757 runs at an average of 84.11 - the best in any of the three divisions.
He also led the New Zealand Under-20s side, before playing three times for Otago.
