IN response to Mr Edward Danter's comments regarding his 'slump in takings' at this years mop fair, may I suggest that it was not through 'scaremongering' or a 'fear of trouble' as he stated in your article of October 10, it was because a large majority of people are very upset and angry over the tragic death of Sorren Prosser.
If Mr Danter had known Sorren, he would have realised that neither Sorren, his family or friends are troublemakers and had no intentions of causing trouble at the fair, unlike some of the people he chooses to employ to run his fairground.
May I also say it was an insult to Sorren's parents to put so many large obtrusive notices advertising his fairground all over Evesham.
People were not frightened to come out at night as suggested by Mr Danter, they simply chose not to! I'm sure Mr Danter will soon recover from his loss of a few pounds. The parents and family of Sorren will never recover from their loss.
Yes, the fair will be back next year Mr Danter, but again, a lot of people will not.
