HOCKEY: Stourport Ladies never found their way in a 1-0 defeat to Worcester Norton seconds in Worcestershire League Division One.

The visitors bossed possession and reduced the home side to just one first-half short corner.

Stourport's defence held firm until the last 10 minutes when a left-wing free hit was tapped in at the far post.

The two Stourport goals at Droitwich came in the first 20 minutes through Teri Baron and Karen McIntyre.

But they struggled to hang on to the Worcestershire Division Two win as Droitwich crawled back into the match.

Only two decisive moves by keeper Sarah Cranton kept the visitors at bay.

Stourport had a third goal disallowed and hung on for the final minutes after conceding a goal.

The veteran-inspired thirds showed no mercy in Worcestershire Division Three with a powerful display.

Jean Senior scored two first-half goals and later completed her hat-trick before Sarah Taylor (two) and Rosie Connolly completed the scoring.
