Tewkesbury Sports Pool League
WITH the top four teams avoiding one another in the latest round of action, the game of the week turned out to be the battle between Formula 1 and Too Pott at Rekoons.
Too Pott, with a number of up and coming youth players in their side, pushed the pre-season favourites all the way in a tight match that saw the hosts win 9-6 but only after stringing together five wins in the third section of their match after trailing nearly all the way.
Ryan Williams led the way for Too Pott winning two from three early on before seeing their more experienced rivals gain victory at the last minute.
Elsewhere a 100 per cent record was preserved by the Alpina Bush Cutters, who won at home 11-4 against the Renegades despite Stuart Chappell winning three from three for the visitors.
Wheatpieces also maintained their unbeaten run with a narrow victory against Haywards Armies 8 racks to 7.
Results: Alpina Bush Cutters 11, Renegades 4; Nomads 11, Slayers 4; Formula One 9, Too Pott 6; East Street Five 5, Bredon FC 10; Hayward's Armies 7, Wheatpieces 8.
