Handsworth Utd 0, Littleton 6
HANDSWORTH elected to kick down the slope with the wind at their backs and the low sun in Littleton's eyes.
It was Littleton, however, who dominated the play with Matthew Edwards on the left causing endless problems with his ability to get in behind the defence.
The first goal came courtesy of a short corner taken on the right. It was Edwards who made the final cross which was nodded in carefully by Darren Reeves.
On 35 minutes Littleton went 2-0 ahead. The keeper couldn't hold on to a free-kick from Edwards and Curtis Major was quickest to react, hammering in the rebound from close-range.
A clever move four minutes later saw Littleton make it 3-0. Nick Burrows took a return pass from Mark Gledhill and then curved a shot from 18 yards around the keeper.
The same pattern continued in the second half with Littleton scoring again in the 48th minute. Reeves picked up the ball on the edge of the box, beat two defenders and picked his spot.
By now, the game was one-way traffic as Littleton created chances almost at will, that they scored only two more was something of a surprise.
The fifth was made by Burrows who rounded the keeper and squared the ball to Robert Harris who made no mistake.
Burrows wrapped up the scoring in the 65th minute. Again it was an Edwards free-kick that provided the opportunity.
Handsworth had their best chance in the last minute but were denied by Perry Beddoes diving to head a goalbound shot off the line.
Littleton are at home to West Hagley on Saturday, ko 2.45pm.
