A NARROW 10-8 success over win-less Redditch boosted Stourport's standing in North Midlands One on their Vice President's Day.
They are now just two points off the leading clubs but remain third from bottom in the table on points difference.
Sporting their new strip for the first time, many past players saw a close game though Stourport forwards dominated the scrum from the start.
It paid off with a push-over try for Matt Bailey, converted by Richard Dorrell, while Redditch replied with a penalty before half-time.
Dorrell kicked a penalty with 10 minutes to go but Stourport conceded a late unconverted try in the corner despite the best efforts of man-of-the-match Andy Bourne.

Injuries forced players out of position but determined Stourport took the lead after Redditch had a player sin binned.
Steve Griffin kicked the penalty only for the visitors' own lack of discipline to cost them as they gave away three penalties and a try from a line-out.
Trailing 14-3 at half-time, the Wyre Forest men hit back when skipper Owain Butler sent Ed Osborne away to score under the posts with Griffin converting.
Griffin added another penalty to maintain his 100 per cent kicking record for the season.
But Redditch had the final say with a fourth penalty and they held on to the whistle despite the efforts of centres Steve Macdonald, Alan Blakeley, flanker Charley Corbett and second row Gary Williams.
The seconds travel to Camp Hill on Saturday.
