AUTUMN is a busy time on livestock farms, but an Eckington farmer, Andrew Jackson, of Lower End Farm, will be enjoying a well-earned break.
Mr Jackson has won a luxury weekend in the splendour of Middlethorpe Hall, York, from Dectomax, the leading endec-tocide from Pfizer Animal Health.
Mr Jackson, who farms 340 acres, has an 80-cow dairy herd and store cattle enterprise to manage, and therefore a hectic winter schedule. Cattle are housed during October which adds to the farm's busy daily milking routines and so a relaxing weekend in the lap of luxury will definitely help rech-arge the batteries of Mr Jackson and his wife.
Mr Jackson treats his cattle twice a year with Dectomax Pour-On. "We treat them at housing and again during the grazing season," he said.
"The broad spectrum treatment offers assurance against both internal and external parasites.
