ENTRANTS to Worcestershire's food and drink competition Tastes of Worcestershire have been invited to a celebration dinner and awards ceremony at Hagley Hall.
The prestigious contest promotes the best the county has to offer in culinary delights and service. A fantastic response since the event's launch at the Worcestershire Food and Drink Festival at Worcester Cathedral in July has added to the excitement.
Kathryn Wagstaff, tourism officer with the county, said: "We knew there were a lot of places out there that could win this competition and we wanted to help them get the recognition they deserve for the food and drink they serve."
Categories include restaurant, pub/inn, tea shop/caf and breakfast. Entrants are being judged on whether they use local produce and they promote a Worcestershire experience.
Celebrity chef Alan Coxon is one of the judges and will be the keynote speaker at the Monday, October 28 event when guests will sample a specially created menu using the finest possible Worcestershire produce.
