MEMBERS visited Belmont Here-ford for their annual visit to the River Wye.
A wet day didn't deter Barry Stayte, an experienced Wye angler, who netted dace, the main species caught on the day, to feeder tactics on a low clear river to easily take top spot.
Results: 1 B Stayte 18.8.0; 2 Phil Johns 8.6.0. Section A: Graham Mytton 6.8.8. Section B: Allan Gardener 8.2.0. Other weights: John Davis 7.14.0; Dave Johns 6.6.0; Si Milner 6.2.0.
It's the Avon Shield Series at Cleeve Prior on Sunday. The venue should be approached via Mill Lane, parking at riverside.
Fishing will take place downstream on BAA Meadows 2/3/4.
There will be a ten-a-side match against Bidford AC for the Challenge Shield on Saturday, October 26, Draw 9am at river bridge.

TEN members travelled to Leam-ington Spa on Sunday to fish the River Lem.
Despite the cold conditions and later the rain, all the anglers caught fish, even though none broke through the 1lb mark.
In first place was Bill Scarrott who weighed in just eight ozs. Frank Lake was second with seven ozs with Wayne Panting with only three ozs.
Anyone unsure of the way to this week's venue should contact the secretary asap.

Evesham WMC
FISHING a clear river at Willmots, some fish did respond and John Drew, using the pole over ground bait, managed to put a net of roach together for a winning weight of 5.9.0.
Martin Woods followed with a net of perch and roach again on the pole for 4.10.0, while Vic Woods was third with 3.1.0 of perch and roach on the pole.
The next match is at Cropthorne, draw at 7am.
