TRAFFIC should flow more smoothly northwest of the city in future thanks to a new roundabout.
The mini-roundabout, in Holt Heath, near Worcester, will control traffic better at the busy intersection of the A4133, School Lane and The Heath.
The site was identified by council traffic officers as an accident hotspot, with more than three accidents there involving injuries in three years.
"That site came up as an accident cluster site," said Richard Attwood, senior project engineer with the council's Transport and Road Safety Unit.
"In fact, we had a fatality there a couple of years ago when a driver was killed."
Temporary traffic lights were placed at the site during the construction period but will be removed once the last bits of tidying up have been done.
Construction took four weeks and was finished early by contractors Raynesway Construction.
