AN author's visit to a Worcester school was designed to help tap pupils' creative instincts.
Inspired youngsters at Dines Green Primary School had the chance to work with Barrie Wade during the two-day workshop.
Mr Wade, who works at Birmingham University, tailored a range of activities for children of all ages.
The creative lessons were described as "excellent", by Year 2 teacher and literacy co-ordinator Chris Healey.
"He read some of his works and asked the younger children to conjure up pictures in their head. It really got their imagination working," she said. "After the range of workshops, all the children got together to read out their own creative writing, so we got some great feedback from the work."
After the success of the event, the school is planning to hold similar ones in the future.
