LANGLAND Sports continued their recent good form keeping another clean sheet through great performances from Hill, Drinkwater, Postans and Hudson.
PLUMBERS ARMS 0, LANGLAND SPORTS 5
Langlands started well but the opening goal was hard to come by, especially when several chances went begging with Stu Harvey and Nick Kordas missing headers from corners.
The goal came from a lucky bounce and quick thinking from Stu Harvey to react and beat the keeper from 18 yards. Minutes later Langlands were 2-0 up due to a Stu Harvey finish. He finished his hat-trick five minutes before half time with a cross from Alan Evans which split the Arms defence for Harvey to side foot his third past a stranded keeper.
A forced change at half time due to a reckless challenge saw Langland step up a gear and without unlucky finishing should have had double figures, especially Drinkwater whose cracking volley hit the woodwork from 35 yards.
The fourth came from Kordas who twisted and turned into space and released a powerful top right hand corner strike. Sports struck again with Jamie Abba, who had an excellent game in centre of midfield, when Nick Kordas chipped the back line with Abba running through to pass the ball into the net past a stranded keeper.
LANGLAND SPORTS 3,
NORTHWICK AFC 3
SPORTS struggling for 11 players fielded a side a little miss-shaped but managed to go one up when Stu Harvey beat the offside trap.
Northwick equalised after five minutes when they got to the line, crossed to an Unmarked striker who tapped in for an easy goal. After constant pressure, great defending from Howes and Postans kept Northwick at bay until a corner was met with a powerful header from the advanced centre back.
Mark Newman was constantly keeping Langland in reach of the game with some great goal keeping. In the final moments of the first half Sports were awarded a penalty, which Drinkwater coolly tucked away.
Langlands went ahead again through a good finish from Stu Harvey but late into the game Northwick ran through to equalise. Northwick nearly grabbed a winner but were denied by superb defending by Mark Hill.
Langlands are looking for players especially youngsters looking to move from junior to senior football, contact Andrew on 07968 432996.
