SUNDAY'S game played in driving rain saw Evesham seeking to build on their victory of the previous week and consolidate second place in the league.
Evesham took the lead in the 14th minute when a Redditch defender handled the ball and the referee awarded a penalty kick. Captain Charlotte Benson-Wilson stepped up to confidently stroke the ball home.
Redditch equalised in the 40th minute when a long cross from the left-hand touchline sailed over goalkeeper Samantha Jones and into the roof of the net.
The home side then took the lead midway through the second half when the unfortunate Benson-Wilson deflected a shot into her own net.
Not to be outdone, however, the young Evesham squad went in search of an equaliser and it came ten minutes later when substitute Niki Bond ran clear of the defence and placed her shot just inside the post past the advancing goalkeeper.
Five minutes later Evesham were back in front. Tori Southern received the ball and ran into the Redditch penalty area where, after colliding with the goalkeeper, the ball ran loose for Nicky Savidge to slot home.
The scorer then had an instinctive shot straight at the goalkeeper before Redditch broke away and equalised with the last kick of the game.
