I AGREE with Herr Dieter Schroeder's sentiment concerning the inconsistency and inaccuracy of public clocks in Worcester. Such a situation is pathetic.
I was once misled by one of these wretched timepieces myself. However, I now recognise them for what they are - rubbish. If these relics of the past are too costly for private business to maintain and repair, as John Hinton suggests, then they should be removed and consigned to the tip.
Worcester claims to be a tourist town. Heaven knows, we have little else. I'm sure there must have been visitors who have looked at some useless clock face and missed a train or coach as a result.
Such people are unlikely to return to the Faithful City or to recommend it to friends and relatives.
