HARD-hit farmers whose land lies within flood plains could be given a helping hand thanks to an initiative by Worcestershire Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group.
The group, which has been given funding by English Nature for the scheme, will be offering farmers free advice on how to make the most of the waterlogged areas.
The plans will suggest different ways in which the farmers can make use of wetlands as well as offering advice on the different grants and aid available to them, from organisations such as the Countryside Stewardship Scheme.
The group will also be holding a series of meetings in conjunction with Severn & Avon Vales Wetlands Partnership, aimed at farmers who are concerned about increased legislation, such as nitrate vulnerable zones.
Anyone who is interested in receiving more information on the initiatives should contact Rosie Price on 01905 362955.
