Shrewsbury went ahead just before half-time when the referee played a good advantage as Jemson played the ball through to Lowe who calmly tucked the ball past Brock into the net on 44 minutes.
But Harriers equalised with a fortunate goal as Williams' 25-yard low free-kick rebounded off the wall, sending the ball spinning into the opposite direction to leave keeper Dunbavin completely stranded as it rolled into the corner of the net. Danny Williams
Earlier, Harriers should have been 2-1 ahead when a clever Henriksen pass gave Flynn a great chance but he curled the ball wide of the post from 15 yards.
Referee Pught booked his first player on 31 mintues with Lowe going into the book for a foul on Melligan.
Two minutes later Henriksen caught Artell with a late challenge and was deservedly cautioned.
Shilton did well to win possession in the box on 40 minutes but his low shot towards the bottom corner was well dealt with by the safe hands of Dunbavin.
Soon after Jemson attempted an audacious chip from the edge of the box that drifted the wrong side of Brock's right-hand post.
Shrewsbury had a second player booked on 44 minutes with Murray yellow-carded for dissent.
