PEOPLE living near rivers or streams have been asked to remain alert after a flood warning was issued yesterday afternoon.
The flood watch, covering Worcester, Bromsgrove and Kidderminster, was put on at 4.30pm yesterday, following heavy rain over the weekend.
It was taken off at 9.30am this morning by the Environment Agency, but EA officials are still asking people to be aware and keep an eye out for signs of flooding.
People are being asked to watch water levels and be ready to enact their flood plan should the need to do so arise.
"The watch is off but more bad weather is forecast and we would ask people to still be vigilant," said a spokesman for the Environment Agency.
"A flood watch means flooding is possible and is meant to put people on alert and be prepared for possible dangers.
"This means watch water levels if you live by a brook, stream or river, have a flood plan ready and think about livestock and pets."
The spokesman said valuables, such as jewellery and wedding videos, and important documents, such as birth certificates, should be put in a safe place after a flood watch.
People living near water should also listen to their local radio and television stations for any future flood watches or warnings.
"Generally, people should just keep an eye on how things unfold through the day," he said.
