ASTON Old Edwardians stunned Hereford as they knocked the Wyesiders out of the Intermediate Rugby Cup.
The Midlands Three (West) leaders toppled their Midlands Two (West) counterparts with a 30-17 victory.
Meanwhile, Bromsgrove secured their third round passage with a 29-19 victory over Camp Hill. Luctonians also eased into the next round with a 55-0 success at Bridgnorth.
After 10 minutes winger James Owen intercepted a Bridgnorth three quarter passing movement to score under the posts, Jeremy Wheadon converting. Shortly after Bridgnorth missed an early penalty attempt.
Luctonians' forwards were dominating their counterparts but many attacks broke down due to over elaboration. On 20 minutes Lucs' flanker Ben Moss was yellow carded and shortly after centre Mark Panniers made a break to score wide out. The conversion was missed. Minutes later a good passing movement saw centre John Goodwin go over for an unconverted try. On the stroke of half time prop Ben McGowan was yellow carded for a scrummaging offence, the half time score being 17-0.
After a scrappy opening to a second half Lucs increased their lead when prop Steve Jaques sprinted 30 metres to score in the corner. The visitors were in complete control and midway through the the half lock Darren Brick went over for a try, converted by Wheadon.
Luctonians' introduced their substitutes William Bevan and Gus Coagan making their first 15 debuts. After 30 minutes wing forward Nick Hamer forced his way over for a try, Wheadon again converting. Although being completely outclassed Bridgnorth never gave up.
A break by Goodwin saw flanker Simon Lewis dribble over to score in the corner. Full back Will Bevan then made a spectacular run which gave Goodwin his second try, Wheadon converting. In the final minute James Owen grabbed his second try again converted by Wheadon to finish off a fine day for Lucs.
