As usual there was not a large attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Redditch Literary and Scientific Institute on Wednesday night.
It is regrettable that more interest is not shown in the affairs of this useful and well managed institution, for it is capable of doing splendid work in the town and district.
Its record for the past is a creditable one but if it was supported by town's people as it deserves to be, its capacity for useful work would be very largely increased.
To give some idea of the work of the institute is doing, it may be mentioned that nearly 22,000 books were issued during the year.
