FINAL detailed plans for a £1.5 million mosque in Smallwood will be debated by Redditch councillors on Tuesday night, just days before its proposed site is finally sold to project leaders.
More than £300,000 was raised by the town's Muslim community to allow Redditch Central Mosque Trust to buy the land from Parkridge Developments.
The sale is expected to go through at the end of next week and the trust will then embark on a fund-raising campaign to raise enough money to build the mosque, which is expected to be completed by 2006.
Latest drawings of the proposed mosque, which already has outline planning permission, have also been released this week
The mosque team hope to raise most of the money from the Redditch Muslim community but will also seek funding from further afield.
