HEADLESS Cross Ladies stormed to the top of the league after blitzing previous leaders Fairfield Villa 8-0 on Sunday.
The Alvechurch tenants have now scored 22 goals in two matches at their new home and will be hoping to extend their freescoring ways at home to third placed Marconi on Sunday (ko 2pm).
Mandy Ellicott took her tally to ten in two games with a weekend double as Teresa Boddington hit four and Melanie Potter and Becky Watson added goals. The result puts Rob Auld's side a point clear of Fairfield at the head of Division One South of the West Midlands League although their rivals have a game in hand and mid-table Kidderminster Harriers, who have played only three matches, can still overhaul Cross.
If Headless can continue their rampant form at the weekend they can push Marconi nine points behind them, albeit with a game in hand.
Auld is set to have all 17 squad members available for the second successive weekend.
The league leaders are still searching for a main sponsor and anyone interested can ring Auld on 07855 865692.
