CLASSICAL music lovers will be in for a treat when the world-renowned Martinu String Quartet comes to town this week.
The quartet, which performs at the Palace Theatre on Friday, first formed in 1976 at the Conservatoire in Prague and has since toured extensively, winning numerous accolades along the way.
Lubomr Havlk is on first violin, Petr Matejk on second violin, Jan Jsa on viola and Jitka Vlasnkov on cello and the programme features Vranicky's Concertante Quartet No 4, Ravel's Quartet in F Major and Dvorak's Quartet in E Flat Major.
The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £9 or £8 (with Reddicard) from the box office on 65203.
