REDDITCH United manager Rod Brown will be hoping for a decision from Halesowen Town midfielder Mark Taylor this week.
Veteran midfielder Taylor, who Yeltz manager Brendan Phillips took to Halesowen from Nuneaton, is a free agent after being released last week and is understood to be talking to a number of sides.
Brown has also been linked with Halesowen's former Wolves striker Richard Leadbeater but Yeltz manager Brendan Phillips said the forward was still part of his plans.
The striker scored after coming off the bench in Saturday's 4-0 win at Weymouth and is on monthly terms at the Grove.
Brown will be hoping his latest target will be more successful than his last recruit from Dr Martens Premier Division Halesowen.
Striker Andy Jones was released by the club and joined Redditch on loan but promptly announced he was hanging up his boots after one appearance and is now rumoured to be interested in a return to former club Halesowen Harriers.
He is contracted to the Yeltz and his loan move to Redditch expired yesterday (Tuesday)
Brown handed central defender Gary Knight his Reds debut in Saturday's disappointing 1-0 loss to Clevedon.
The new boy's arrival spelt the end of midfielder Craig Harris' Reds career with Brown under strict limits to the size of his squad despite a lucrative FA Cup run which generated £16,000 for the club in winnings alone.
'Chopper' Harris was one of Brown's first signings but has seen his chances limited this season with United stalwart Richard Field partnering Lea Shaw in the middle of the park.
The Reds gaffer will want to inject some new blood into the team after United drew a blank in their third consecutive match despite again dominating possession.
Redditch were set to host Evesham United in a Worcestershire derby last night and will entertain them again on Tuesday in the first round of the Dr Martens League Cup (ko 7.30pm).
In between, Redditch visit basement boys Swindon Supermarine on Saturday (ko 3pm).
The hosts are marooned four points adrift at the foot of the table and six points from safety after a miserable haul of two points from their opening 11 matches.
