Two star

THE second album from jj72 is simply a let down and poor, to say the least.

After the major success of their eponymous first album with hit songs on it like Oxygen and Snow, the trio has gone off the boil and, more importantly, out of the public eye.

Currently in the middle of their UK tour, the band release I To Sky is a 12-track album with about two worthwhile tracks. The rest? Well it just isn't worth your time.

The man with probably the highest pitched voice in music fronts this band, even outweighing Aled Jones's We're Walking In The Air on most of the tracks.

And if you didn't know jj72 all that well you'd have probably thought it was a woman for the first three songs.

Not saying that's a bad thing but it does make it harder to label them.

The band are hardly rock or pop and don't really fit in between.

They're in the same mould as Placebo and, to some extent, Muse.

The two tunes to look out for include the forthcoming single Formulae and, my favourite, 7th Wave.
