A CHARITY event takes place in Greenlands on Saturday to raise money for much-needed equipment for a hospital cancer unit.
Fundraising has been under way since July, following the funeral of Neil Ankcorn, who died from a rare form of cancer, on June 25.
The weekend's event, at South Redditch Sports and Social Club, features a disco, raffle and bottle tombola.
The night is due to get under way at 7.30pm and with a special opening being performed by Redditch's deputy mayor Kieth Boyd-Carpenter at 8pm.
Admission costs £3 on the door.
