A REDDITCH probationer constable has received a commendation for his part in arresting offenders who stole a caravan.
While on leave from training in June, Pc Chris Bradley spotted someone driving away a Volvo and caravan from a house in Stoke Heath, Bromsgrove, at midnight.
He followed it onto the motorway and gave a running commentary to the police headquarters' call management centre.
Officers there notified the motorway police who sent cars on the M42 and M40 to stop the driver.
Pc Bradley followed the Volvo and caravan, worth £12,000, until it was stopped by officers on the M40.
Three people were arrested and one was charged with theft.
The offender was given four months' imprisonment at a Young Offenders Institute.
