AT the October meeting, members were requested to send Jackie Grier news items for the next newsletter, due out in November.
The Christmas meal was discussed and also the group Wassail evening on December 18.
Speaker Mrs Jean Farrington explained how she makes porcelain dolls, from casting the slip to making the clothes and she brought examples of parts in various stages to the finished articles, from baby dolls to specialist costume dolls.
Final arrangements were made for the group meeting when the speaker will be Mr Paul Kidd, former butler to the Queen and former footman to the Queen Mother.
The room will be decorated in red, white and blue.
The competition was won by Pam Field, with May Lloyd second and Rita Wilson third.
The next main meeting will be on November 11 when all members and friends are welcome.
