PORNOGRAPHY means the systematic degrading of women and children.
Porn-peddling has now become a multi-million pound industry and those who control it are well known to campaigners for higher standards in society, as is the knowledge of where such individuals donate their ample resources.
The proposal to site a 'sex shop' in a well-used Redditch thoroughfare will come as no surprise to concerned people, especially to those church people, education interests and good people concerned for the well-being of children, women and the weak and vulnerable.
Our police service does a marvellous job in attempting to combat the effects of permissiveness. It is extremely heartening to see them also engaged in tackling the root causes, whether they be addiction to pornography and other evils, evils which not only undermine family life but expose the weak and vulnerable to commercial exploitation.
May I urge good people to write to Redditch Council's Borough Director, Chris Smith, to register their protest against the licensing or permission to develop a so-called 'adult shop' in a thoroughfare traversed by children and families, women going about their lawful business, the weak and aged, shoppers and those proceeding to and from education establishments and places of worship?
Evil triumphs when good men and women do nothing.
