DISABLED Redditch people will now find it easier to enjoy one of Britain's most popular sports.
On Friday, the Environment Agency completed work on new facilities for disabled anglers at Ipsley Pool.
The scheme, developed in partnership with Redditch Council, has provided a large fishing platform and an access ramp and has cost the agency about £8,000.
The wheelchair-friendly platform has been built by the agency.
The council has donated the pool and is enhancing perimeter access and soft landscaping.
The council is also working in partnership with the Redditch Federation of Anglers to improve access to the area, reduce shrubs and install new signs and park furniture.
The Ipsley Pool scheme is one of a series of projects to improve access for disabled anglers across the Midlands.
The agency supports facilities for disabled anglers where a site is open to all disabled people and has a commitment to serving the disabled community as a whole.
The fishing platforms at Ipsley Pool are built from timber to a standard, approved specification.
They must be flat, level and square and include features such as side and kick rails to ensure the safety of the anglers.
