THIS is a warning to all those contemplating a Saturday night out in Birmingham going via train - don't!
One Saturday evening recently, my family and I travelled in for a concert. At Five Ways a notice announced no trains would run after 9.30pm, but two buses an hour.
We returned to Five Ways at 10.45pm to catch the 11.06pm bus. An hour later a coach arrived. The surly driver dumped us at Longbridge saying there would be a connection to Redditch.
At 12.45am we gave up, struggled to stop a taxi and finally arrived home at 1.30am cold and tired.
Had Redditch warned us no trains would run after 9.30 pm we would have caught the bus, but that would have necessitated thought on their part wouldn't it?
