A WINYATES man is set to embark on an extreme cross-country and obstacle course to raise money for the County Air Ambulance.
Tim Walls, 48, is taking part in the well-known Tough Guy race in Perton, near Wolverhampton, in January and is seeking company sponsorship.
Tough Guy was developed by farmer Billy Wilson and started 15 years ago as a cross-country run to help fund his animal sanctuary.
Half the money Mr Walls raises will go to the County Air Ambulance and the rest to Tettenhall Horse Sanctuary, Perton.
The 2001 race featured an eight country-mile run and obstacles including high climbs, icy muddy water swims, climbing under barbed wire and running through fire and across wobbly bridges.
There is also a summer Tough Guy race which took place in July and saw several competitors become ill with dehydration, one who was in intensive care before the race had finished.
