THE circumstances surrounding the death of tragic Worcester schoolgirl Lelaina Hall will be disclosed at an inquest today.
The five-year-old pupil at Oldbury Park Primary School, St John's, died while on a weekend trip to the Somerset seaside.
The inquest starts today in Taunton, Somerset and is expected to continue into tomorrow.
Lelaina died on Sunday, June 23 after becoming trapped on mud flats at Brean, near Burnham-on-Sea. She was on a short holiday with her mother, Caroline, and her new partner and his two children.
A post-mortem examination found that she had drowned.
Lelaina lived with her mother in Pitchcroft Lane, Barbourne, after her parents separated soon after moving to St John's.
Neighbours described the five-year-old as "fun-loving".
Since her death a campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of mudflats has successfully raised money for a lifesaving hovercraft.
A two-day inquest before a jury was due to start this morning at Shire Hall in Taunton.
