THE inquest into the teenager who drowned in a Worcester lake while fishing with friends was due to take place today.
Worcestershire Coroner Victor Round was scheduled to open the inquest into the death of Nathan Spiers, who was pulled from Lower Heath Fisheries on Monday, July 8.
Fire crews used the brigade's inflatable rescue boat to find the 14-year-old, who had disappeared under the water at the Martley Road lake as he attempted to retrieve a fishing float.
Emergency crews tried to resuscitate the teenager, of Howard Road, Dines Green, at the scene, but were unsuccessful.
He was pronounced dead after he was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
The inquest was scheduled to be held at Stourport-on-Severn Coroners' Court.
