THE temptation to field more fringe players was there at Dagenham in the LDV Trophy but Kidderminster Harriers boss Ian Britton decided changes were not the way to go.
Britton explained: "I wanted to get the tie over and done with. I didn't want to risk extra-time or penalties. I'm glad we won inside normal time.
"Dagenham are one of the better sides in the Conference so I'm glad we've come here and done a professional job."
However, the Harriers manager was disappointed to see a second-half Dagenham goal letting the non-leaguers back into the cup tie.
He added: "I was pleased with the way we played for the first 55 minutes but after that we let ourselves down a little.
"We tried to over-play, we tried to be too clever and we allowed them back into the game. That was disappointing."
Britton will now be looking for a third win of the season at Aggborough on Saturday when Harriers entertain Cambridge United.
