IMAGINE the scene, walking through Bridge Street to go to work, do some shopping, meet friends or just having a look around, when suddenly you see them coming for you. You try to walk away but it's too late your accosted again by someone from a charity wanting you to sign up for their schemes.
The first couple of times I have been polite, but nearly every week it's the same and I have to say that I now try and avoid them by walking through Riverside Shopping Centre, thus avoiding most of Bridge Street.
Who granted permission for these people/charities to harass us? Someone that probably doesn't live in Evesham or even walk through Bridge Street. I am sure that many people like myself give when they can afford it, so why should they be allowed to intimidate us.
Before anyone writes in to complain about this letter I would like to point out that I do subscribe to a charity which I think is a worthwhile case, but I object to being harassed in the street. I am sure I am not the only one who feels like this and I would encourage others to write in.
MRS DEACON, Butterfly Crescent, Evesham.
