HOCKEY: A game of missed opportunities left Stourport with no National League Division One points on the board and a third consecutive defeat in losing 3-1 at home to Bournville.
Pakistan international Imran Yousaf grabbed his fourth goal of the campaign via a short-corner as Stourport dominated the first half against their Midlands rivals.
And within 10 minutes of the second half the Wyre Forest side could have been three goals ahead.
Phil Lashford drilled a shot into the keeper's pads after excellent build-up play between Luke Edwards and Yousaf.
Then Edwards missed the ball from just three yards out though the best chance fell to Laith El Khatib.
He reverse-stick flicked the ball over the keeper but it skidded inches past the outside of the far post.
Bournville came back into the game and their pressure forced Stourport into mistakes.
Rick McCollum's equaliser came from a broken-down short-corner and John Burroughs scored another within two minutes after the defence was breached.
Bottom-of-the-table Stourport responded but Yousaf's short-corner and five more chances went begging.
Richard John was sent off with two yellow cards for robust challenges, forcing Jon Willicombe into defence.
Edwards had been having one of his best games but was unable to push forward into attacking positions.
And Bournville sealed the game with a Dan Pech goal from the last hit of the match.
Stourport 2nds 5 Leek 1
The seconds clinched their first league win of the season as Nick Chambers opened the scoring from an acute angle.
Chambers missed a penalty but Steve Ellis extended the lead by rounding the keeper and sweeping home from close range.
In-control Stourport brought on sub Tom White at half-time and he grabbed his first goal of the season after Ellis had blocked a Leek short-corner.
Phil Baldwin sealed the win by blasting into the roof of the net from 16 yards after a four-man move.
Leek managed a consolation but Mark Moss bagged a fifth from the left of the circle.

David Knott's four goals led the visitors to victory as his second successive hat-trick included a penalty stroke.
Knott also laid the ball on for Mark McKinnon to score the other goal.
The thirds look favourites for the Premier Division Trophy.
Stourport 4ths 3 Edgbaston 4
The fourths paid the price for a number of enforced changes but held off the opposition until the last five minutes of the first half.
Two goals were then scored from an intercepted 16-yard hit and a short-corner.
Godfrey Lamb smashed home a short-corner rebounded shot into the roof of the net after half-time before John Shackleton equalised with a reverse-stick shot.
Shackleton gave Stourport the lead with his second goal but despite exceptional work at right-half by debut-making Luke Carless, Edgbaston's front pair blasted two quick strikes.
Shrewsbury 2 Stourport 5ths 0
Stourport's youngsters found it difficult to compete against a physically stronger side and relied on the returning Neil Stone to keep the score down to two.
A second-half revival based on Alex Vale's superb work-rate ensured they drew the second half but could not get back into the game as chances were squandered.
Old Halesonians 5ths 2 Stourport 6ths 0
Goals at the beginning and end of the first half sealed the match but the young sixth team showed promise.
Stourport Veterans 7 Sutton Coldfield 2
Three goals in 10 minutes blew Sutton Coldfield away and Stourport led 6-1 at the interval.
Knott scored two as did Steve Odell and there were other strikes from Roy Woster, Robin Conway and Ellis.
Lichfield 4 Stourport Ladies 2nds 1
Stourport were 3-0 down at half-time in a friendly clash after conceding a 10th-minute opener.
The visitors failed to make any impression with their attacks until the second period when Kate Bailing pulled a goal back 10 minutes after the restart.
Stourport missed further chances and Lichfield grabbed a fourth on the stroke of full-time.
Nuneaton 1 Stourport 3rds 3
The thirds extended their unbeaten run as they took the lead on 18 minutes in their friendly as Jess Trundle weaved her way through the defence.
Nuneaton equalised soon after but were on level terms for less than a minute as a ball was crossed for Rosie Connolly to put Stourport ahead again.
Stourport sealed the victory in the 50th minute when Sarah Cavendish picked up a Trundle pass and sent a superb swerving shot into the corner.
Fixtures, Saturday, Ladies: Kings Heath Ladies v Stourport 1sts, 2nds v Kings Heath (12.30pm), 3rds v Bournville 3rd (2pm).
