MOTORSPORT: UK Monoposto Championship racer Lee Bennett finished off the season in style with a fighting fourth-place finish at the Rockingham International Speedway.
Cold morning weather did not help the Kidderminster team as Bennett's Michelin tyres were unable to reach their operating temperature.
He qualified in seventh position as a result and also due to a spin which damaged the F3 Reynard machine's front wing.
A great start propelled Bennett up to fourth by the first corner only for the lack of tyre temperature to again hinder him as he dropped back to eighth.
But his tyres started to grip in the second half of the race and Bennett started to make his move by picking off cars on each lap.
He climbed to fourth on the last lap and finished just one second behind the third-placed man, setting the third quickest lap of the race which was only .6 of a second off the record.
