THE comeback of the week took place at the YMCA where the Renegades, who were trailing 7-3 to the Severn Slayers after ten racks, battled back and, with the aid of three wins from Dave Aston, managed to square the match.
Level after 14 racks, they narrowly failed, however, to complete a great comeback when Roger Dyer won the crucial decider.
The Wheatpieces made it seven wins in a row as they entertained Bredon FC and won 12-3 with Anil Patel contributing 3 winning racks for the hosts.
Leaders Alpina Bush Cutters remained unbeaten as they ran out 9-6 winners against Haywards Armies. Defending champions the Nomads continued their climb up the table with a convincing 13-2 victory against Too Pott at Rekoons.
Results: Haywards Armies 6, Alpina Bush Cutters 9; Formula 1 13, East Street Five 2; Too Pott 2, Nomads 13; Renegades 7, Severn Slayers 8; Wheatpieces 12, Bredon FC 3.
