IT was the turn of Bredon Colts' Under-14s - the club's eldest team to take the limelight last weekend.
Having not won a league game this season they faced unbeaten Mostyn Rangers from Stourport but a superb team display saw them take all three points after winning 1-0.
Davis Cosgrove was outstanding for the Colts but it was Alan Purser who scored the only goal. Bredon were put under great pressure in the second half but defended heroically to make manager Derek Gibbs a happy man.
The Under-12s got back to winning ways defeating Drakes Broughton 4-2 away. George Malone (2), Jamie Annand and Sam Wood scored the goals.
The girls team kept up their 100 per cent record with a 5-0 win against Evesham Juniors. Bredon made their greater experience show against the newly formed Evesham team and played good football throughout.
Holly Hutchison and Charlotte Potter gave the home team a 2-0 lead before Alena Binns scored with a cool finish. It was left to debutant Hayley Wheeler to add two more.
In the boys' Under-11s section, the Cobras were involved in an excellent game at home to Peopleton Rovers.
The two teams were well matched but it was the visitors who took the lead with a superb 20-yard drive that flew past Bredon's keeper Felix Denton.
Peopleton doubled their lead after skipper Craig Robinson was robbed of the ball just before half- time.
The Cobras, however, fought hard in the second half and Luke Norman put a lovely pass through to Robbie Keating to reduce the arrears.
Bredon then deservedly equalised after a goalmouth scramble when Jak Griffin fired the ball home. Although they missed a number of chances it was a great fightback by the Cobras whose player of the match was Andy Durrant.
The Under-9s were involved in an 11-goal thriller against Littleton Juniors which they finally lost 6-5.
Liam Robinson scored for the Colts with a stunning volley and Jack Sly, Tobias Warfield, Arran Williams and Jack Gibbs added the other goals.
More than 70 children also attended the Soccer School/Coaching Centre on Saturday.
The session took place at Tirlebrook School under the guidance of Colts' qualified coaches, including Chris Martin and Neil Attwood.
